Welcome to the SMGA page!

The Stoneybrook Men's Golf Association (SMGA) is a diverse group of golfers of all playing abilities. The SMGA’s mission is to promote camaraderie among its 350 members and to provide competitive golf weekly, throughout the year.  All skill levels are welcome, with weekly events usually on Wednesdays (Pro Shop creates the pairings). Members can participate in either 18- or 9-hole groups. Regular weekly games are in various formats such as Stableford, best 2 of 4, do your own foursome, and many others, all handicapped and flighted appropriately. Signing up for each weekly event is done electronically simply by opting in or out on the announcement email. There is no minimum participation requirement. Plus, the added benefit that no Chelsea points are charged for participation.
 

SPECIAL EVENTS INCLUDE

-- Complimentary lunches are provided following the seasons Opening Event as well as the Closing Event (Fall and Spring).
-- Presidents Cup, Jan.
-- Member/Member, Feb.
-- Member/ Guest and Shootout, March
-- SMGA supports charity events such as Breast Health of Sarasota and The Armed Forces Cup.

We adhere to the recommended USGA Handicap Manual. The Handicap committee reviews the GHIN System for postings of all winning scores. Regular random audits are also done to review other scores' postings, and we encourage direct feedback from members on questions and concerns. To become a SMGA member, you must be a Stoneybrook owner, or renting for six months or longer. You will also need to establish a GHIN handicap. Application forms are available in the Pro Shop.
